Yahoo presents: The All Blind League

This branded documentary short is one of those projects that didn’t come to us via a brief or with a scope. It didn’t have any paid media behind it. During our time working on Fantasy Sports, my creative partner and I found an all blind fantasy league of 12 men and women from all over the country. They have been playing together on Yahoo for 6 years but had never been able to meet in-person. And, if you know anything about Fantasy, draft day is a BIG day. So, we decided to create a space for them to come together and draft during which we could film their stories around all things accessibility, how that shows up across both apps and sports, as well as their love for Fantasy Football.

Partnering with an award-winning production company, M ss ng P eces and documentary filmmaker, Lance Oppenheim, this is my proudest work to date. It was a true pleasure getting to meet these individuals and I’m now a proud member of our Yahoo x ABL Fantasy League!

The short doc captures the stories of blind and visually impaired team owners, sharing their enjoyment of a game that millions of people love, but which was not always accessible to people with vision loss.

Yahoo Sports has been on the leading edge of fantasy innovation for more than 20 years, instrumental in bringing fantasy online during the early days to creating content and products to drive growth and accessibility for fans and adding NFL live streaming into the Yahoo Fantasy Football app.

This documentary comes as Yahoo is putting an emphasis on accessibility. Earlier this year, it committed to closed captioning 100% of original and partners’ English-language videos on all its platforms.
